Cookbook Haul
...Ok, I think my husband is fueling my obsession of cookbooks..He literally said " why don't you get one a cookbook a month"...ok I can do that, but It maybe more then one , if I find some good buys at the thrift store ( that's where I get most of my cookbooks in my collection)...besides all of the collectable type dishes, and salt and pepper shakers...besides inheriting all of my momma's.
He which I have found tons of recipes, both in cookbooks , craft type books, recipes torned out of the newspaper, newpaper clippings, etc...I have since found out that my grandma loved recipes as well...so I guess I do get it honest..
I got this cookbook for Christmas, I mean I have I think a couple of Dolly's other cookbooks ( at least one of them )...Upon reading the stories in this one...I have found out that Dolly's sister Rachel has other cookbooks out there...So you know now I'm on the look-out for those...Might not find those in a thrift store...lots of great recipes in this one for sure...I have tried the Layered Salad ( first time making this recipe...),...
I picked this cookbook up this month...Loved watching Mr. Food on the news programs, I do have several in my collection ( at least wo of them )...Simple and easy recipes...I have vowed to try at least one recipe out of the new to me ones I pick up...I picked a dessert one out this cookbook...Stay tuned for the that Recipe...it involves gummy worms...
Then lastly I picked up a Home economics cookbook , in which I do have multiple editions of these great little spiral bound cookbooks..I feel this cookbooks the recipes have to be good, as they taught the cooking concepts to lots of children, ( I know some parents did teach as well)..
I have vowed to try a recipe from each one of the ones I pick up each month, yes, that's right more cookbooks will be shown...So stay tuned...These are the ones for December 2024 and January 2025..
