Smothered Mushrooms
1 pound mushrooms 2-3 Tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon grated onion salt and pepper
Wash each mushroom individually under running water ( not really supposed to wash mushrooms). Do not soak. Slice mushrooms vertically and stems crosswise. Cook Mushrooms with onion in butter over quick heat. Stir frequently. Cook until delicately browned; reduce heat to simmer. Add seasonings, cover and cook about 5-10 minutes longer.....
