LASAGNA CASSEROLE

1 ( 8 oz) package broad noodles

1 Tablespoon salad oil

1 ( 8 oz) package heat and serve sausages

1 ( 1 pound ) can tomatoes

1 ( 6 oz) can tomato paste

1 Tablespoon instant minced onion

1 teaspoon mixed Italian herbs

1 cup cottage cheese, drained

 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

 1 ( 6- to 8 oz) package Mozzarella cheese, cut in 1/2 inch strips

   Cook noodles as directed on package and drain. Return to saucepan. Toss with salad oil. Dice sausages and brown , stirring often. Stir in tomatoes ,tomato paste, onion and herbs. Heat to boiling and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Layer half the noodles, cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, tomato mixture and Mozzarella cheese in greased 2- quart casserole. Repeat, trimming the top with criss-crossed cheese strips. Bake at 350 F. degrees for 30 minutes until bubbling at edges and cheese is browned.
