ITALIENE HEART CASSEROLE

3/4 cup diced cooked heart

3 Tablespoon fat

1/2 No. 2 can spaghetti with tomato sauce

1 Tablespoon pimento, chopped

Cheese, grated

3/4 cup cooked string beans

1/2 Tablespoon flour

1/2 cup boiling water

3/4 Tablespoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

buttered crumbs

       Brown heart in fat. Combine Spaghetti, pimento, 1/8 cup cheese and string beans ; add heart and place in baking dish. Blend flour with remaining fat ; add water , salt and pepper. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Add to heart mixture. Cover with buttered crumbs ,mixed with cheese and bake at 350 F. degrees for 30 minutes.

YIELD: 4 Servings

Tuna Bake

Come with me to the year 1967, in the Great state of Kansas. When physical newspapers were a thing ( no internet). When basically almost all meals were cooked from scratch, there was some meal convenience foods...in which this recipe does use...casseroles were a thing as well...now on to the recipe ( sorry no photos due to tech issues)  What do you need for this recipe 1 package of Macaroni and cheese 3 Tablespoons  of soft Butter 1 cup tomatoes ( can use canned drained               Some) 1/2 milk 2 Tablespoons onion, minced 1 egg 1 can Tuna, drained 2 Tablespoons  Parsley,  snipped ( can         Use dried) 1/2 teaspoon  salt 2 Tablespoons  corn flake crumbs       ( can use more for top) A saucepan to mac n cheese 1 quart casserole dish  Oven Cook Macaroni and cheese as package directs, then add other ingredients.
