BAKED PORK CHOP NORMANDE

4-6 loin pork chops

Dash of salt and pepper

3 large apples, thinly sliced

2 teaspoon sugar

2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 Tablespoon butter

1 large bay leaf,

2 Tablespoon onion, grated

3 whole cloves

1/2 cup cider or bouillon 

   Trim fat from chops; season with salt and pepper. Arrange in a buttered baking dish; cover with thin slices of cored, pared apples. Sprinkle mixture with sugar, cinnamon and butter. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and bake at 400 F. degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Remove cover and cook 10-15 minutes longer.

YIELD: 4-6 Servings
