"GOODBYE TURKEY " CASSEROLE

5 Tablespoon sifted flour

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon onion salt

1/4 cup butter, melted

2 1/2 cup milk or light cream

1 1/3 cup instant rice

1 1/2 cup turkey or chicken broth

1/2 cup American cheese, grated

1 1/2 cup cooked asparagus

2 cup turkey, sliced

2 Tablespoon slivered almonds

  Stir flour, half of salt and onion salt into melted butter ; mix until smooth. Add milk ; stir while cooking until thickened. Pour rice directly from box into 2-quart shallow baking dish. Combine broth with remaining salt and pour over rice. Sprinkle with half of cheese over rice. Top with asparagus; add turkey. Pour on sauce. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake at 375 f. degrees for 20 minutes. Top with almonds.

YIELD: 6 Servings
