VEAL A LA KING

2 pounds veal, cut in 1-inch cubes

1 large onion, chopped

 6 carrots, diced

1 can peas and liquid

1 can mushrooms and liquid

1 green pepper, finely chopped

4 whole cloves

 2 bay leaves

6 cup milk

  Brown veal in shortening; add onion and brown. Put veal , onion, carrots, peas , mushrooms and green pepper into a casserole. Put cloves and bay leaves into a cheesecloth bag and place in casserole. Bake 2 hours at 250-300 F. Make a thick white sauce using 6 cups milk. Remove spice bag. Add veal mixture to white sauce. Serve on heated chow mien noodles or in patty shells.

YIELD : 8-10 Servings
